We have made some changes to our subscription software to enable registered (but not yet subscribed) users to use the forums in the same way that subscribing members can. This means that guests (non registered visitors) can now only read the forums and not answer posts or create new ones.

Registration is required for all forum users. If you haven't already, just click on the 'Register' button in the top menu and follow instructions - it only takes a minute and its FREE!

Subscription is still required for access to the rest of the Club Motorhome website.

The reason we are unable to allow guest posting is for security. Sadly these days there are many mindless individuals and machines (presumably programmed by mindless individuals) that try to flood unprotected forums with spam. Only yesterday while testing the forum a spammer posted several topics carrying links to undesirable websites. So we have had to enforce our secure registration process to filter out these characters.

I have had occassion to use the the cross Ferries a few times this year and have been quite surprised at the cariations in Prices for the Dover Calis 7Duinkerque crossing.

What might seem cheap in one direction is often offset by a large hike in the price coming in the other direction.

Trying to stay with one operator is no guarrantee of competative price, and I would advise all Motorhome owners to simply Book ONE DIRECTION at a time, and use an interneyt cafe/ macdonalds rtc for the retyurn journey, nearer to the return date.

Emember to check out each of the operators.

We are fortunate as Motohome owners, that exact time of departure can be varied to obtain the best price, with an overnight stay at either end, on a Free parking place-

  • classicarta  - Dover Calais Crossing FREE STOPOVER.

I do not like driving at night, so whenever we make the crossing we tend to stay near the port.

On the Dover side, we have found that there is a very good stopover place on the Sea Front, after 5.30pm, untill 8.30am,

Another favourite Dover spot had been the Tescvo store, that is just 2 miles outside Dover on the A2 route. This now has a TIME LIMIT, so beware.

If there is time, the Park and Ride facility in Canterbury is very useful, i think it is the Southern site, wher there is a camping Car facility, sectione off, and they give you FREE bus travel into Canterbury. Ther is s charge, but i think well worth it.

On the Calis side we tend to use the Aire, facing the Ferry terminal, just ij front of the Campsite. Off season it is Free.
