Mimizan Plage, Atlantic France
What can you say about Mimizan Plage?
Â
Our very first trip took us there in February 2009 and we were delighted. It was cheap, there were all the services including electric hook up. Good water, toilets and outdoors showers – a little chilly for February!

Subsequent visits have been good although, of course, the summer brings out the 'campers' who take over more than their fair share of space meaning spaces can be more scarce than is really necessary. The police appear to turn a blind eye to awnings, tables, chair and cooking outside making this a very relaxed way to spend a few days at the beach – if you can find room.
Â
Â
That said, Mimizan Plage is a huge aire and only in the height of the summer would this be a problem. The resort has everything you might require in terms of shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, pharmacies and so on. This beach is just superb!

We stopped here in December 2010 and they now have an automatic barrier system in operation. Pay by card only and the charge had risen to over 8.5Euro per night.
