Thinking about changing my van for next year , thing is we are not sure how much bigger to go , our Compass Calypso
is just under 19 feet long without the rear scooter carrier and as its a coachbuilt I think its about 7 ft wide , as we often venture into coastal areas of the south and west coast including wales we have found a lot of campsites have country lanes
leading to them not much wider than the van and tight turnings into the campsites from the main road (country lane)
and usually a uphill climb from the lane hence any vehicle too long or with long overhang from rear axle drags on the ground .
we have looked at a few of the Hymer facelift model motorhomes and found the layout provides plenty of space and most have a fixed rear bed which we have been looking for but unsure about their size to small country campsites .
