Hi been thinking of a Trip to Greece early in the new year so found this site on the net. http://www.motorhomeclub.gr/index.php/en after spending some time browsing the links I sent a enquiry to the tourist office and got this reply.I'm sharing it as We found it so refreshing and welcoming for some one to take the time to reply personally
We do not have a list of overnight stops for you to download or purchase. However, we may inform you that there are several many thousand places in Peloponese where you may overnight without any problem at all. Practically, you may park and overnight, without awnings of course, wherever parking is allowed.
From the top of my head, I could suggest that you visit ancient Corinth which has a private camper stop for about 10euros, admire the Corinth canal and take a boat ride for 10 euros per person, visit Nafplion, parking and overnight at the port is allowed and it has water and grey-black waters disposal, overnight at Karathona, a nice beach close to Nafplion, visit the archeological sites at Mycinae and Epidaurus which have plenty of parking space, continue to the beach towns of Astros and Monemvasia (parking at the city entrance or at the port), ride through the wild scenery of Mani and stop wherever you want to any of the nice traditional villages on the way, enjoy the crystal-clear beaches of Kalamata while parking and overnighting at the main city port, visit ancient Olympia to see the place where the Olympic games originally took place, and find a way to go to the central Peloponese traditional mountainous villages Stemnitsa, Dimitsana, and other.
Generally in Greece, you may get water for free at any gas station, or take it from public and private fountains on your way. Nobody is going to ask questions or charge you a single cent for water. Traffic in big cities can be a nightmare during the rush hours but it is not not worse than in other places of the world in non-rush hours. If you want to visit Athens, you will may easily park for free at the sea-side southern suburb of Glyfada.

We have been to Greece twice. The Peloponnese for three months Sept, Oct, Nov in 2009 and in the central / North in Oct and Nov 2013. Yes you can park almost anywhere, especially out of season. However, they don’t like camping activities, especially near campsites. That said, most campsites will be closed and so will beach resorts, bars and cafes. Mainland Greece in January can be cold and wet with some big storms coming of the seas in the East. Snow will fall in the north especially in the mountains which starts in December. Greece is one of the best places to go with a motorhome. The people are friendly, especially to the Brits. They stop and chat give you bottles of wine and buy you drinks and ask what it is like in the UK. Diesel is cheap and the beaches are empty and clean. Autumn is the best time to go.
If you want more info then let us know, happy to help. If you want some guaranteed winter sun go to Morocco (south of Agadir). People either love or hate Morocco – we loved it!!
