Great Day Out Monet’s Garden Giverny

Travelling to and from the channel ports Monet’s Garden makes a good stopover and a great day out.

Monet’s Garden is in the village of Giverny, which is situated seventy kilometres south of Rouen, and for over forty years was the home of artist Claude Monet. This is a National Trust type attraction where you can walk around the garden and house and is well worth a visit. There is little point documenting all the details as the Monet Foundation has a really good website with up to date information.

What’s good is that you can overnight in your motorhome free of charge. This is a popular place, especially with coach trippers from Paris. If you arrive late afternoon you can wander around the pretty village in the evening when it is quiet and then visit the gardens early the following morning before it gets too busy.

The coordinates and further details of the stopover are listed on the club motorhome website.
