In August I renewed my motorhome insurance, today I received from the DVLA a letter informing me that I am not on the MID register as being insured and to SORN my van if I am not going to insure the van.
I was straight onto my insurance company asking why I am not insured as I had paid my premium in August. The agent for the insurance company took my details and looked on their system to find that they had not registered me on the MID system (something I wasn't aware of) and if I had been stopped by the police checking drivers I would not have shown up as insured.
So if you would like to check go to http://www.askmid.com and put your details in and it will tell you and should you have an accident it will tell you if the other driver is insured.
So hopefully it will be sorted on Monday. (I hope) :
