Prompted by a member's comment I wondered if any of you use a good image resizer that you would recommend to others?

Most images taken with modern cameras are pretty large files so can be too big to email/upload etc so they need to be reduced in filesize.

I mostly use commercial software for my purposes on here and elsewhere but I'm sure there are some good free resources out there.

What do you use?
Ifranview. Free and excellent program. Even does batch processing.

just type the name in Google and it will take you to the website.

Regards,

Paul

I use 'Paint' Very simple to use and it comes with your Windows package. Just - right-click on the image file - open with - Paint. Which it will then do; then - choose 'percentage' or 'pixels' (I always use 'percentage') - change the 100 to whatever you want (I use somewhere between 30 and 40)- OK - then Save (from the file menu).

It will only do one photo at a time but is very easy to use

Have a look at this one - pixresizer.en.softonic.com/
Very easy to use, it must be if I use it, and free to download.

Yep there are loads of good free packages. PhotoScape is another which allows you to edit and resize your pictures. It too has a batch Editor. If you want to see this one click on this link: PhotoScape
Best of luck

I just right click on the picture file in file manager (in Windows) and selct "Send To". A box pops up which allows you to resize from 640x480 up to 1280x1024 pixels. Once the size is selected, a new mail window opens with the picture attached, ready to select the recipient. You can also select several individual, non-cosecutive pictures and, using the same method, batch process them to a new email message in one go.
