Greetings All, we live in Western Australia but have travelled around Europe, including UK and Ireland a couple of times and also in the US and Canada. On 2 occasions we did a 'BuyBack' scheme with Hymers but this time we bought a Hymer S550 outright as we will be coming back for several summers - our winters.
We prefer the older version of the Hymer 'U' lounge model as we found the newer version we had was not so rugged as the older one, not so many extras perhaps but more solidly built and with low mileage and only 2 owners our latest should last us out.
We are going down to Spain/Portugal this year but have seen the topic Travelling in Morroco this is of definite interest for us, so would welcome any advice. We should be down in southern Spain by mid May, is this too late to travel there? Are there any other members who might be wanting to travel together around that time?
Looking forward to see what is happening in motorhoming around Europe
G'day folks, are you already in Europe? if so will you be coming into Spain via France or from the UK (ferry) which ever way you are coming try to include a visit to "Green Spain" here in the north we have some of the best scenery in Spain, the vast majority of visitors are Spanish from further south, they come for the scenery the food and of course the more temperate climate...it only gets up to the low 30s in the summer......so sleeping at night is no problem. B)

If you need any pointers to of places of interest to see here, let me know and I will make a list for you that ties in with your itinerary.

We haven't ventured across to Morroco yet so we are reading with interest the current topic too.
Enjoy your trip

Hello

We have been to Morocco 5 times but all of those have been in the winter months. I have checked the Rough Guide for Morocco and it gives the average temperatures.

In May in Fes it has a high of 25 and a low of 10 degrees C; June it is 28 and 13; July it is 34 and 17

Marrakech in May has a high of 29 and a low of 14; June it is 33 and 17; July it is 38 and 19

For me that is just too hot.

However it is a beautiful country and could be cooler in the mountains, further internet research is called for.

I can recommend a couple of books for you to use when touring. They are published by Vicarious Books in Folkestone, UK. One is All the Aires in France, the other All the Aires in Spain and Portugal.

Another useful tool is the CamperContact App from the Android Playstore. The CamperContact website is a useful resource as well.
