Hi everyone we are coming to this motorhoming lark late, never had a caravan or campervan before. Said we would never ever buy a motorhome so last October we bought one!!!! I know, why? you ask, well as retirees and with friends with motorhomes having good times in them, they finally wore us down so to speak. Have bought a Globecar Trendscout, 1 year old have;nt got a name for her yet. Have only had a weekend away so far last November, yes, I know only a weekend but as we were'nt going to buy one we had already arranged to over winter in Spain. So before you doze off, long story fairly short we are returning to UK soon to rev up our new van and set off tootling around well anywhere the mood takes us, really looking forward to getting out and about. :woohoo:
Well with a PVC you will find country lanes and city centers no problem to navigate.
Don't think you always need to travel with friends, motor-homering seems to transcend most continental boundaries in terms of friendship and in terms of needing to speak their language you will find 99% of Dutch speak English, Closely followed by the North Belgians (Flemish) 90%, Danish, Sweedish,Norwegians it's their second language, Germans a good 50%, Rural France quite low maybe 20% know a few words, Spanish and Portuguese, well you know them from your recent visit, the welsh and the Scottish can be a bit tricky unless they are trying to sell you something, so that leaves the Italians, well they just add an 'Ah' to English words, wave their arms about and pretend they have their own language anyway. The Greeks well their not kidding when they say "It's all Greek to me" It is particularly the written bit.
Make use of the Pub stopovers that Neil has put together and print and laminate a Members disk for your van window and hope to see you on your travels.

Well done on giving in and buying yourself a motorhome, I'd be very surprised if you will regret that decision

I hope you find the stopover listings on here useful and look forward to hearing of your progress

:welcome4: I'm sure you'll have great times in your motorhome! If there should be anything your friends can't answer, it's almost certain someone on here can.
