Hi all
We have just had 3 brilliant days in Cadiz
The new Pepa bridge is a breeze
It takes you from Puerto Real to close to the port of Cadiz
We were parked up in the car park by the cruise ferry terminal within minutes of crossing the bridge.
We decided against Cadiz last visit after hearing about the long, slow, busy approach and parking problems
But with the new bridge and the port car park giving a HUGE discount to us Motorhomers ( 3 Euros for 24 hours, it was 18e for a car during semana Santa ! )
Well ....like I said it was a breeze!
I will submit stopover details for car park with video

The tourist office is a short walk from car park, they have a map with walking routes around the old city, they are colour coded with matching colour lines painted on the pavements, so easy to follow in the maze of narrow streets. We cycled the yellow route which circles the tip of Cadiz on the sea front the whole way around, then did the other 3 walks over the next 2 days. We took part in a bit of semana Santa madness, very impressive stuff. And we ate in numerous tapas bars, some of the best so far.
Don't hesitate to go by motorhome if using the new bridge and port parking, we were going to take the boat from Puerto Santa Maria but this way we got 3 days instead of a day trip, much cheaper option and so practical and easy
Hi Cathy & Steve

Thanks for this will looking forward the video of the Aire.

We are off to Spain / Portugal next week and Cadiz is on the list!

We loved Cadiz and we are not city types as a rule. The parking felt safe, bit noisy with the festivities and you might get noise from the port at other times, but so convenient for sight seeing as everything is on your doorstep.
2 things to be aware ..
1 the bridge only opened in September so was not on our sat nav
2 to get the special 3e price you need to pay the attendant who is only there weekdays (not bank holidays )
We are really enjoying the area as a whole, Sanlucar Aire was packed, Chipiona tolerated parking very pleasant ( details to follow) and we have found some nice wild camping spots by the beach

Thanks Kathy and Steve

That is really useful information. It has been six years since we have been to Andalusia and then only really passing through. Any further info would be most welcome, especially the wild camping spots.

Glad you are having a good time
