Coincidence- was doing the same Tom1 and like you no idea. My Licence says 21/11/1975 but it was sometime in 1960s. Then going back to correct something I've lost the entries so cup of tea and do something else

Great minds Barry.
I lost my licence years ago and only got a replacement last year for going to France, so it only has last years date and the date it wants renewing on it.

Well, whilst I know the year and possibly the month I passed my test I don't know the date.

I just asked caromac when she passed and she knew it all straight off!

Perhaps its something we should know or have a record of?

Hopefully Dan will be along to say Hi and offer some advice

I just did a quick google as you do and found that you can access your driving licence information. You'll need your driving licence number national insurance number and post code.Under classes of vehicles it shows from and to dates.Hopefully that should be the date you passed your test.

Filled in application ,not that straight forward .Received email to phone them back on free phone which I did pm yesterday .Given base price of £209.29 ,another £225.29 and another £261.21 ,second and third prices include various bolt on's, Comfort price on renewal £302.07.Now requested to see copies of policy and add on's before I decide.
Don't worry to much re date of your first license ,quoted what was on license 1975 but told her it was before then, no problem .
Will advise once seen the policy.

When you get the policy docs check the windscreen cover for your Bessacar.I got a quote of £270.29 with add ons but on examining the policy discover that the windscreen cover is £1000 with excess of £90. 3 years ago when having the screen resealed, the company doing it said a replacement would be about £1600!! Now probably £1800+ so cover is inadequate.

I was the one posted here before.

I will check again later when im home and on the laptop.
But tried 10 times so far and it either says something like 'temporarily unavailable' after i have put my details in or just says 'system unavailable' after clicking the start button.

However i havent tried today, if they did have a fault it might be sorted now.

After all that, yes the link now works and it was the right one, thanks Mid!
However it only says when my licence was change last year from a paper one to a card one, either that or I only passed in May 2015, according to the details!
Doh!
That's it I officialy give up with it, I will wait for my renewal now and see how much it comes to!

I have just been on to Direct Line Insurance, they do not advertise 'motorhome' insurance, however they say all motorhomes under 3 litres engine size are covered by there car policy.
I have other policies with them so get some sort of discount but they just quoted me £164 fully comp but without breakdown cover.
But I have asked for the details so I can read it and compare.

Comfort are £360!

I have just gone with comfort too. After reading my current policy and the direct line one and comparing to the comfort one it is obvious that it is a much better policy.

Looks like Comfort ,policy is much better, phoned Nationwide they were cheaper, by £30.00 but again policy not as good ,and despite clearly saying Motor home ,all comments on paperwork referrer to a car .
Phoned Safeguard ,for call back call then had to go out so missed them ,tried to phone them hung on for 10 minutes and gave up .
There is a saying better the devil you know than not .!!!!!!!

For insurance purposes, the exact date is't exactly important. This is something we encounter a lot, so just the year and if possible month are fine to put in. Only in cases where the driver has held their licence for less than 10 years is the exact date necessary.

Thanks for the response Dan.
However I think the website wouldnt proceed without an exact date.
Which is annoying to say the least!
