Just tried an attachment under 1mb in size and it was not accepted is there a lower size limit? or is it a problem
Hi Ken,

There is an upload limit for images of 250kb, which should be plenty big enough for forum resolution quality.

I just uploaded a picture in the pets section to test all works OK and it does

There is an article here on photo uploading guidelines that may help with resizing - don't let it put you off posting your pictures most forums and photo galleries will limit their upload allowances.

Thanks for the feedback, I will look into some automatic resizing in the future

Just for info, the process to attach/include a photo is to click on 'Add File' then click on 'Insert' when your cursor is where you want it to appear. Don't worry about the /fakepath/ filename, that's just a security measure so that no one can trace the file on your computer.

Hi Ken,

Will do, the edit facility times out after a while.

Should have it deleted in a minute

Just as an update...

Maximum filesize to upload is now 500kb. The upload process will resize photographs to a maximum dimension of 600px which has the effect of reducing the filesize further to save webserver space.

Note: The 'Insert' button is only visible when an attachment file has been selected.

This is how I am trying to add to the pets forum
I add the text, then click add attachment, browse for photo which is 90kb then click twice or click open then nothing happens. ie the title of the photo does not appear in the small box left of add file nor does anything else appear such as insert. Dont get this somehow, never had a problem attaching pics before, maybe i'm getting too old. I always reduce the size for the web so dont need auto resize but I dont see anything regarding this either

Well this is a test to see how it goes following your method and in Internet Explorer which you are using.

Edit:

I add the text, then click add attachment, browse for photo which is 90kb then click twice or click open then nothing happens. ie the title of the photo does not appear in the small box left of add file nor does anything else appear such as insert.

I don't get it either because that is exactly what does happen (my end) - I can't seem to replicate the problem, although I think the way your photo displays is pretty good with the lightbox effect B)
