I would recommend spending the time,and money to use the bridge from Nyborg on the way up,it's a bit pricy(70euros+) but it's a worthwhile experience if you like big bridges and tunnels,then possibly use the Ebsberg or Putingarten ferry on the way back
Hi spinner,i had a look at that,about as long as the somport tunnel by the look of it,with a handy stop and lookout point up the road

We did a similar trip back in 2008 when we had the folding camper. You may like to have a look at our blog. We went up through Denmark and took the ferry from Hirtshals. Laerdal tunnel is a must do, if possible.
