has anyone ideas or experience of how to fix a reg plate on to the rear of towed smart car? The A frame fitter suggested self-adhesive velcro on both plates and backing velcro on the car - does it work and where can I get the self adhesive velcro from or any other suggestions? Another suggestion was crocodile clips but the cars plate is fitted too snuggly.

Many thanks for the advice - in the end we found very thin steel cable clips in Halfords which will fit behind the smarts plate and hold the vans plate tight.
As regards Spanish police our fitter told us when confronted to ask for the British Consulate - but as my Spanish is non-existent we probably won't risk it.
Just hoping that the Spanish fall into EU line after the 2014 ruling!
