I know tyre life depends on many variables - make, size, driver, FWD etc. But I was just wondering how many miles people expect/achieve from their tyres?
Our own experience is that I had to change 1 rear (due to uneven wear) at 7 years/34,000 miles, both fronts at 9 years/48000 miles, the other rear at 10 years/53000 miles.
All tyres were Michelin XC and believed to be original to the van going by the date markings on the tyre walls (which were actually 2 years older than first registration - and the above figures).
Sadly the newest rear had to be replaced after just 3000 miles due to sidewall damage from road debris inch:
Obviously if you believe rumour/advice that you should change them every 5 years regardless of wear then this topic won't mean much  .
