Cards abroad

Have just returned from 6 weeks in France and Spain
and I know this subject has been aired before thought I would share my experience. We already had a Fairfx pre load Euro card,which we had pre loaded at 1.165 to the pound and I also got a Halifax Clarity Credit card which charges nothing for using abroad unless you take out cash.
Halifax card is as good as it word ,we have a hefty bill, but no charges have been added as long as it is paid in full in time given .We have received conversion rates of 1.17,1.18,1.19 euros to pound.It has been used with NO problems in the following. Toll booths,Aire barriers,Campsites,Supermarkets (including Lidi not in UK)!!!,Restaurants,Fuel stations.in general no problem at all highly recommend it .Fairfx card we just withdraw cash as required there is a 1.5 euro charge but that is still cheaper than using previous card with Nationwide.Cards were used in both France and Spain.Please note I having nothing to do with either of these company ,just want to share with fellow members.
