Time and time again rumours are spread about pretend police attempting to stop tourist vehicles with the intention of robbing its occupants. So, how do you know if that vehicle flagging you down is genuine police?

Thats good info. We are leaving UK next week for a 2 month trip of France, Germany, Italy, France again and ending in Spain so will keep this in mind.
