To encourage new members, or those who have not yet posted on the forums, to take their first step in taking part in the Club Motorhome commnunity I thought I would ask the question - who are you?

Whether you have posted before or not let us know by posting a reply in this topic, or even start your own - we'd all love to hear from you. If you haven't posted on a forum before the process is pretty straight-forward although we have a basic how-to guide here - if it helps. There is a short period of time to edit once you have posted your comment and even if you do think you've made a right hash of it just let Chris (TravelsRus) or me know and we'll delete it so that you can go again :).

We have getting on for 900 members and many are 'Free Forum Members' so we would love to hear from you. A bit about you, what motorhome you have (or would like), your interests, hobbies, how you found this site, what made you want to join, dare I even suggest it.... what you don't like about the website - you get the picture ;)

I hope that visitors and members alike find the forums to be friendly and welcoming - that's certainly how I would like to see them develop and we have some great people on here who I'm sure will respond to your own input - I personally guarantee that you won't go unanswered, so go on - say Hi! Or just say Hi back to those that have already done so.

If it ain't broke..... Don't fix it!

Hi,

I retired, quite early, nearly 10 years ago. I bought a Moncayo motohome and travelled through France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and then Portugal for nine months. Finally, when money was getting quite short, I found a part time job in Jaen province (Spain) looking after a small campsite…sadly now closed. This turned into a (long-term) part time job and enabled me to return to studying: something I have wanted to do for a long time.

After settling in Spain for the last 10 years I wanted a change and to travel again. Having viewed a number of second hand motor homes locally, and being appalled at the general condition (one had three large holes in the shower tray!), I decided to purchase through a dealer in Cartegena. I have just bought another Moncayo (the 721 Silver, I like the fixed bed and good bathroom layout). My old model was just faultless and, I feel, amazing value for money. This model has the Fiat 3.0 Power engine and seems slightly sprightlier than the old 2.8 JTD that I owned before. I know it may be boring to buy a very similar model to my old one but it really was faultless and nothing ever failed.

I found this website site after a considerable amount of Googling (if that’s a real word?) and was impressed by the content and how easy it is to naviagte. I’m really interested in any vegetarian recipes anyone may have that can be ‘thrown’ together in a motor home…I don’t have Jamie Oliver’s skills in the kitchen department! You may have guessed that I’ll be consulting the ‘Pub Stopover’ section over the next few months.

I set off next week, first heading to the east coast of Spain and then through France and back to the Midlands for July and August. I have to sit an exam later in the summer so will be in England for a while.

Well…that’s my basic introduction. I hope you all have a good summer and look forward to hearing from members.

Cheers Russ. PS I have attached a couple of very poor photos (one external and one of the bathroom)of my 'new' motor home. I hope the attachment works.
