Woke up this morning at Wissant to snow, had to have 3 attempts to get to Calais. Eventually got behind a snow plough, then managed to get onto the motorway. The snow wasn't deep (only about an inch) but it was cold & getting packed into ice making the roads really slippy. Nerve racking having to back down a narrow country lane when every time I touched the brake to slow up the wheels would lock & I would keep sliding. Had Chris walking down the road with the walkie talkie watching ready to warn any traffic.
