I've just come across a new Foreign Office web page

that gives links to the AA 'rules of the road' for each country, the FCO advice for that country and 'angloInfo' which I think are local tips written by UK ex-pats. Just click on the marker for the country (usually need to click first on one of the 'number' icons so as to zoom in and see the individual country markers).
All obvious stuff to old hands I suppose but useful to newbies like me.
