I know this is a 'dumb' question but dumb suits me! :p

To all the regular channel hoppers here, does it feel safer on the train or Dover to Calais ferry?

We are finally going back to France next summer for at least 4 weeks after 2 years of staying in the UK.
(Look at the the French event listed)

My wife is really worried about the 'migrants' and it's one of the factors why she hasn't wanted to go previously.
However I now have a concesus from the wife and both kids saying they want to go.
So I'm booking it asap, so they have no chance to change their minds.

We will prob travel mid afternoon both ways.

But to subdue the wife's worries, which route feels safest to each of you?

Rolling on and enjoying life on the road
