We did the Amalfi coast last year but not in the camper, would recommend you camp in Pompeii and use the bus or train to travel. The roads are pretty narrow and busy you need nerves of steel and there are restrictions on travel times along the coast roads because they are narrow and busy with coaches. Pretty sure campers are not allowed any time you need to check though. You don't mention your van model if its a PVC should not be to much of a squeeze any larger and could be tight. Must say though it is a beautiful coast so don't be put off you just need to do a lot of research and somebody here will come up with more info .
