Although we've not done a tour of WW1 museums etc we did visit Arras earlier this year on our way to Eastern France/Germany.
We visited the WW1 commonwealth graves and memorial here. (my Great Great Uncle fell here in 1917) We stayed on the aire at the edge of town (about 10 mins walk) which is in the Aires book. The aire was ok and adjacent to offices so plenty of people about during the day. We stayed overnight with no problems.
The graveyards are about 30 mins walk from the aire.
There are also WW1 museums (we didn't visit) in the town which may be of interest to you.
