Following recent security issues / stories with regard to stopping overnight on the Calais Aires I can say from our experience last week there isn't any problem. We left the MH and went for a meal in town and an evening walk. Both Aires. one by the beach and the other on the old marshalling yard, basin are now 7 euros payable by phone only and not on a meter. However, a man also comes around to collect the money should this not work for you., as it didn't for us!
